The Culture Module Comment
Comment For Team.
Hi Team 3, you were the first team to start and I think you set a nice standard
for the other teams to either follow or challenge. That's what peer learning
should be about.
What you did well:Factors causing conflict - this was a good slide and it was
well explained. What countries experience political conflicts? You chose to
talk about Taiwan and China mainland. Again, good example. What political parties? Kuo Min Dang vs Min Jing Dang.Good mention of inter racial conflict
in Indonesia, how the Chinese businesses were targeted in the late 90s. I
suppose one thing to mention here was that there WAS general harmony until
the economy started to sink badly. It became clear that the Chinese were still
able to make a good living while the Indonesians were suffering. This is what sparked the jealousy. Some background information would be good for your classmates who may not understand why the conflict arose and therefore, they cannot think of how these sorts of conflicts can be resolved (maybe they can't).
What you could have done better:Take the time to explain to your non-Chinese speaking teammates. I know that these exampless are difficult to explain and
you are doing well, but this is a team presentation, so the first step is for
the team to know the facts before you share them with the class. This way,
there will also be more even distribution of the explanation for all members of
the team. Keep working on it! Other than that, nice work!
Comment For Individual.
Shameer, you are always the one earnestly reporting what your team
has come up with. That's good. I wonder if you can take yet another
step forward to assess if the points brought up are indeed the crucial
points. That will help work on something we discussed before- "quality"
of questions/observations.The other thing that puzzles me a little is
how come you are okay with not understanding what Terence is saying?
I know it is tedious and time consuming, but please make him explain
what he wants to say to the whole group. It is not just Terence's presentation
but the whole group's, right?
And If I Could Reply Back A Comment To The Facilitator.
Dear Facilitator, thanks for being such a bitch. You loves to blame me for other people's mistake. Are you fucking dumb to blame Terence's mistake on me?It's his mistake that he didn't share his slides with his classmates. It's his damn mistake to bring out with such difficult examples to present!
Terence's grade given: A
Teacher's comment on him was something like he put in tremendous effort to explain his parts and therefore he deserves his grade.
WTF?!
Someone is given A for making a big mistake for the team and someone else is given B for being blamed for other's mistake. That show's how much facilitating quality she has after these years.PLAINLY RIDICULOUS.
This has been the reason why our class wanted to change facilitator. We compromised and for awhile it was ok, but now her bullshit is starting to show up again.
Ow man, did she even realised how much destruction she has cause in my life?My GPA is in her hand for goodness sake.
It's hols so I don't want to get myslef al tensed up for now, for it wont make a difference. So let's enjoy life as it is.
Happy Holiday Readers!
*This blog entry isn't about me condemning Terence for making mistakes but to the facilitator for not being accurate in her grading and evaluation.*
